Join us as we partner with the TECH Project in Leonville on May 9 for their Annual Spring Bayou Cleanup! You can pick up trash by water or land and help us make Bayou Teche a cleaner, healthier waterway.
Calling all neighbors—let’s get out on the water together! This weekend is a great chance to launch your boat, enjoy the bayou, and spend some time with the community. Not everyone has to clean—come ride, relax, and connect with your neighbors. For those who do want to help, we’ve got plenty of grabbers and supplies ready to go. Every little bit helps. Come out, enjoy the day, and help us keep Butte La Rose beautiful.
We’re incredibly excited to share some big news for Louisiana Bayou Society. Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, we have officially received a DVX175 Xpress to support our mission. This vessel is going to be a game-changer for us. It will serve as a scouting and support boat, allowing us to access remote areas of the bayou, identify problem sites, and expand our cleanup and conservation efforts more effectively than ever before.
Dominick and Alex Chaillot, founders of the LA Bayou Society, speak at Atchafalaya Basin Keeper’s April meeting. Atchafalaya Basinkeepers, a member organization of Waterkeeper Alliance, was founded by Dean Wilson in 2004 with a mission to protect and restore the swamps, lakes, rivers, streams and bayous of the Atchafalaya Basin for future generations.
